Summary of Proposed Revisions

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Air Pollution Control Board (Board) will hold a public hearing.The purpose of this hearing is to receive public comments concerning proposed ordinance and regulatory revisions for Hamilton County, Tennessee, and all included municipalities.The matters being considered consist of:

  • Housekeeping revisions;
  • Permit and emissions fees increases;
  • Asbestos permit fee increases;
  • Revision of new source review rules including Prevention of Significant Deterioration of Air Quality (PSD) rules;
  • Elimination of outdated rules;
  • Provisions for Plantwide Applicability Limitations (PALs);
  • Revised ambient air quality standards;
  • Revision to a rule for grain elevators;
  • Revision to the insignificant activities list; and
  • Incorporation by reference of certain federal regulations as authorized by Tennessee Code Annotated § 68-201-115(a)

The hearing will be held on Monday, March 5, 2007, at 5:00 p.m. in Room 1-A, the Development Resource Center, 1250 Market Street, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37402.  A deliberative session of the Board to consider recommendation of the adoption of these proposed revisions may also be held on March 5, 2007, or may be extended or postponed by reason of the quantity of public comment.Materials concerning the above matter will be available for public inspection between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday during normal business hours beginning Monday, January 29, 2007, at the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Air Pollution Control Bureau, 6125 Preservation Drive, Chattanooga, Tennessee37416-3638, (423) 643-5970 or online at www.pollutionsolution.org/regulations/proposed_regulatory_revisions.aspx. All persons interested in the air pollution control program of Hamilton County and its included municipalities are urged to attend and will be afforded the opportunity to present testimony to the Board regarding the proposed revisions.Any person desiring to present comments should be prepared to offer a written statement to be incorporated into the hearing record.Written statements not presented at the hearing may only be considered part of the record if delivered to the office of the Bureau Director by 4:30 p.m., Friday, March 2, 2007, at 6125 Preservation Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37416-3638.
